Please note: This is the tea bag version. Take care not to confuse it with the loose-leaf version.
This pan-fired green tea is made from naturally grown tea trees that have long been cultivated in the Sera region of Hiroshima Prefecture.
The mountainous Chugoku region has a long tradition of producing tea by firing the leaves in a pan. We have given this traditional method a modern interpretation, creating a tea with a fresh and uplifting aroma.
Grown naturally without fertilisers or pesticides, the tea has a clear, pure character and a gentle flavour that seems to sink effortlessly into the body.
Brewing Instructions
First infusion: Add 100 ml of boiling water for each tea bag and steep in a teapot for 1 minute.
Second infusion: Add boiling water and steep for 30 seconds.
Third infusion: Add boiling water and steep for at least 3 minutes.
Cold Brew
Add 5–6 tea bags to 1 litre of filtered water and leave to infuse overnight in the refrigerator.
After cold brewing, pour boiling water over the same tea bags to enjoy another infusion.
How It Differs from Standard Japanese Sencha
・Because the leaves are not heavily rolled and their cells remain largely intact, the tea does not become excessively bitter even when left in boiling water.
・It is easy to prepare because it can be brewed with boiling water.
・The tea can be aged, allowing its flavour and aroma to evolve in interesting ways over time.
