Producer Yamaguchi is a pioneer of organic tea cultivation, having begun farming organically in Satsuma, Kagoshima, 34 years ago.
Today, his son plays a central role in production. Standing well over 180 cm tall, he may seem imposing at first, but his warm and friendly personality is reflected in the tea he makes.
This Saemidori sencha is shaded for around two weeks before harvest, producing a vivid green colour and the kind of flavour many people imagine when they think of classic Japanese tea.
Sweet, toasty, and rich in umami, it is especially recommended when you need a little extra focus or as a pairing with sweet treats.
